    Overflow Pillar

This bad boy will cover an all/glass aqueon overflow. It is too tall for a 75 but is darn near perfect for a 65/90 or 120 megaflow overflow. This is the only one I have at this size. It is just under 20" tall and 18" wide. It projects 10" into the tank including the overflow.

We put it in a 75 gallon tank at the LFS and it fits that dead space perfectly between the overflow and side wall. It is just too tall for the 75. A few inches would need to be trimmed as it would stick out above the water line. I really wish I would have brought my camera to take a pic. While talking to the owner we both thought it was almost the perfect aquacape for that half of the tank. It left 8" for a sand bed for an open look with maybe a small aquascape.

I will not be able to make another one this size. It didn't fit in any of my kilns. I had to pay a friend to fire it in his monster kiln. It was the only thing in the kiln. I can make them smaller but right now I will not be able to make one as detailed as this for a long time. I can do the hieght with minimal aquasculpting. Or short and beefy. But not tall and beefy.

    $400 shipped.

Thanks.....I almost ground it up. I let it dry forever. Then went to put it in my kiln.......FUDGE. Tried my other kiln........double fudge. It sat next to my kiln for three weeks. My friend is an awesome potter and he rarely has kiln space. He took one look at it and how much work went into it and he snuck it in for me. I hate to ask him for help, he is very busy but he was outside when I drove past his shop. Took a chance and asked him if he could help out.

He did. I gave him at least $300 in equipment I had but no longer used and I paid for his fire. But it was worth it. I am so glad I didn't scrap it.

You're work is amazing. The only suggestion I would make; is it possible to put holes in the shelves for plugs? Only reason I ask is I want to set up my 125 as a frag tank, but would like it ot have some asthetic value rather than just have frag racks. Pillars would be much better!

rEver think of cutting them in half and inter grooving them so you could fit it in yours? likr make the top ones base that sits on the bottimg on like a U and the bottom one's top a l. So it would sit on the other.

This is the first one I made that turned out. Every new idea has a learning curve. It will come in time.

We do make structures with holes for plugs. But they are really spaced out. I actually have a few of these finished. Every one is different. They are more for the display tank. But a lot of our products can be put together to create an awesome frag tank. Big Uns, Chalice Domes, Frag Stations, Magnetic Frag Stations.

We also have more things drying that I will expose in time. Just not right now. I have some new ideas I am working on. I want to try a new technique to try to shave some time off the process to try to bring the price down.

You'll just have to wait and see what comes next.

I have given that thought. But stuff like this is made during fun time when inventories are good and sales are slow. Summer projects. Glad you are happy with your order. Thanks.

I had to run across town so I stopped in the LFS and snapped some shots of the pillar in a tank. It is a 75 and you can see it is a little too tall for it. It catches on the plastic rim. Otherwise it sits flush against the overflow. Perfect for a 90 or 120. Hide that ugly plastic box. Sorry for the low quality pics. There wasn't a lot of space to take pics in front of the tank.

They do not have to be "cured" but they do go through a cycle. You will not get an amonia spike but they do brown up for a few weeks and then start to grow coralline if you have a lot of it in your tank. I have seen some tanks that are lacking in coralline and they will color up close to the look of the rockwork. I have also seen them in about six months become completely encrusted with coralline.

All I can tell you is it is ceramic. The rest is a trade secret I take very seriously. I know most people think it is a joke that we don't share our recipe but it does put us apart from the competition. Our material looks like rock, feels like rock and acts like rock. No cheap slip molding here.

I just checked out your tank thread. I think it would look awesome in there. But you would have to definately reaquascape it. At the bottom of the Pillar is an awesome cave and a lot of detail.
