wow! I wish I could get a piece like this for my tank I'm setting up in the next couple weeks, but I'm pretty sure you're booked and I prob can't afford it! VERY NICE!

The waiting list is manageable. I would say I am about six to seven weeks out right now. That sounds like a lot but I only do one to two pieces a week. Probably averages out to 1.25 structures/pillars a week.
My next project is a freshwater, newt/salamander set up. Kinda excited to see how that turns out. We are using a different clay for freshwater projects. It's a darker color. Different texture.
That first piece would be terrific to stick up against an overflow or something. It would hide the overflow, while giving you more space for corals and such. Thats a great piece.
Wow all of the pieces you have here are sweet I can't wait for you to do my stuff!
WoW those overflow pillars look sweet Scott! I really like how the water comes in from half-way up the pillar!

every one of those pieces are awesome!
Wow. That is sick!

Here they are stacked.

It's been a six year evolutionary processes. We work really hard to improve our craft. I hope it keeps getting better. We want to be the best at what we do. We already feel we are with our propagation products. I am ok with being known as a plug maker. But I want reefers to know we are so much more than that.
My favorite part of setting up a new tank is aquascaping. I love doing it. Many people struggle with it. We can help.
that's sick gooch. am I gonna see this locally? I spoke with Bill 2 Sundays ago at the swap. I now know who owns the awesome pillar you did a few weeks ago.![]()

How much is the shipping on these larger pieces out to New England? I've seen the pricing for your stuff and it's definitely reasonable, but I can only imagine that the shipping on some of this larger stuff must be astronomical.

This piece will probably be $375-$400 shipped. I know it seems like a lot. But I am guessing more than $100 of it will be shipping and packing materials. Basically what I have guys do is give me a general idea of what they want. Including size, height or general shape. Most tell me to go crazy and just be creative. Some want a specific look. I figure out about how much I need in materials and how much it will cost to pack, then I give them a ball park quote. I always try to come as close to teh low number as possible.
That base is about 22" around so I have to use a 24" double walled box. I attatch it to a thick piece of pink board, probably 2" on this one. Wrap it in stretchwrap. Cover it with 1/4" foam sheets($.50 a sheet and I will use a bunch of them) and then secure it in the box with expandable foam. The expandable foam sheets are about $6 each. The big piece will probably use three sheets. The top pillar will be packaged the same way. Honestly it may be overkill but I have shipped smaller pieces other ways and had minor issues. UPS/ Fed Ex and every other carrier is about numbers. They beat the hell out of things and blame the weather for mess ups. So I pretty much try to take every precaution when packing these. The frieght alone I am guessing will be over $50 for both boxes. Probabaly closer to $60.
People will still think that is too much to pay. But just for an example I have been working on a special project for someone. The first piece broke right away. I second piece snapped in half as I loaded it into the kiln. I have a third piece in the kiln I hope will make it and I still need to make one more. Each piece took about two hours to make up to that point. So I will have at least eight to ten hours of just sculpt time to get two specific pieces made.
It's true art and they're nice enough that price shouldn't be an issue. People pay that much and more for frags to make their tanks look better. These will make your whole aquascape look crazy and have a ton of spots for all your frags. Overnight shipping on corals cost as much as your charging. Awesome stuff and I'm a huge fan of your product. This piece on the first page is just insane.

I told my wife the other day that some of these pieces are cool enough that we could glaze them and sell them as table art. Make a lamp out of them...lol. Not sure if people would buy them and I was mostly kidding. But people pay a lot of money for unique art.
I prefer living art myself.
I couldn't agree more. These pieces look amazing and someday hope to get one for in my tank! I think $400 shipped is definitely a reasonable price for a piece this size. If anything, I would have expexcted shipping to be closer to $200 for packing materials and freight/insurance.
