How to find out if clown that my buddy have is percula or occelaris..? The female died and he want to get the right girl for his lonely male.. TIA.

Because of its name, Amphiprion percula, it is the True Percula Clownfish.
Typically orange in color with three white bars, with the middle bar having a forward-projecting bulge.
Has 10 (rarely 9) dorsal spines.
Usually has jet black margins of varied widths around its white bars, often of which can be rather thick.
Distribution of this species in nature: Northern Queensland and Melanesia (New Guinea, New Britain, New Ireland, Solomon Islands, and Vanuatu)

Honestly it won't matter. Both will pair up with your friend's lonely mate....either get a juvi or a large one you're 100% sure is a female

Yeah true and false percs don't care either way. Alot of clowns don't care. People have black/whites with orange. I have a friend with a true and a maroon and they lay eggs. It wont care either way.
