Hey guys

Just wondering if anyone has used their avast vibe for bio pellets? I have one for zeovit, but i'm considering changing to bio pellets again, and wondering if i could use the vibe for bio pellets or not?

Thanks

Luke

Hi Luke,

Sorry for the late response here.

I have been running biopellets in a vibe for about 4 months now. I set the flow through the reactor pretty low, maybe 75-100gph. They are definitely not tumbling. I am trying to see if their consumption rate when not tumbling is faster or slower than traditional high throughput & tumbling action. So far it's hard to tell, but I will need to take them out and weigh the pellets and put calipers on them to get average sizes. The vibration action does keep them very loose, with no clumping whatsoever. It's set to run 1 minute 4x/day. I do notice that I get some floaters that attach to bubbles (nitrogen gas? or plain air?) that are dislodged when the vibe runs. So you'll probably want a top media plate to keep the floaters in the reactor, unless you put the output into a filter sock.
