We are going to continue discussing the reef aquarium facts submitted by our members. Do you agree or disagree? What are your thoughts?

Fact #273

Not all mushroom type corals will spread like an evil plague. On the contrary there are some that grow at painfully slow rates. Normally the nicer they are the slower they grow! :D

Truth or False? What else might we need to learn on this subject? Please also share any pictures that may pertain to the subject.

Examples in my experience:

My mushrooms must hate me because they are multiplying so slowly! Its like the more I want them to spread, the slower they do!

Re: Reef Aquarium Fact

I've had a big and tiny purple plain mushroom for about 2 years. The same ones. Nothing different...

@revhtree--The reason the first mushroom doesn't grow fast is because it's absolutely beautiful!! Wow. The color!

I have recently had success propagating several of the slower growing/non prolific type's... in my tank. I got tired of waiting:) I didn't cut in half like I would with other types. I haven't had success via that method and it's ALWAYS a pain getting them to attach... for me. I tried my current method on several other not as "Ultra" shrooms first, then a Bounce by accident. Last week, I did this beauty. So far, so good. I'm thinking about doing it every few weeks. It's caused minimal harm to the mother's and all babies are healthy.
