I bought a used 125g tank for $50 that has scratches. There's two that I can catch with my fingernail, that I know won't come out, but there's a lot that should be able to be polished out.
I will be buying some cerium oxide powder and some pads.

Have any of you polished out a glass,....aquarium ?

I'm wondering what products you used, where you bought them and how yours came out ?

I have seen scratches diminished by filling with windshield crack patching material, then scraped flat with a razor blade.

I have never heard or seen steel wool used on glass. Any references before I ruin my windshield?

Use water to lubricate.

I used to use it when working as a commercial window cleaner. Just make sure it is 0000 not 000.

I did some research on the web. Many people refuse to use steel wool on glass. Others use it to remove construction and heavy buildup from glass prior to further cleaning. Nobody used it to remove scratches.

I want to remove water stains more than scratches. I was told it would remove light scratches.
I have a old tank to try it on.

You polish glass using Cerrium Oxide and a buffer. Its like using Novus polisher except its for glass.

I tried everything even having it done proffesionally (way too expensive) could have just bought a new tank

ended up living with it... keep in mind once you put water in it it will take on a much better look...
