I have an old RS250 that I want to put hydrofoamers on. I have looked at the reef dynamics models and the mixing chamber volume. From what I see the older RS250 has more mixing chamber volume than the newer INS280. The INS280 is 3 inches taller though. The difference in air volume from the INS250 and 280 are twofold though. The 280 has two eheim pumps and says 2200 lph air while the 250 is running 900-1100lph. I would like to run a hydrofoamer 9420 on the original intake on the skimmer and add another one in a recirc config. That would be 1700lph of air and 343 gph of water. I've seen a couple people use the hydrofoamer in a recirc and had to use silicone on the suction fitting to make it work since the suction housing is odd ball sized. Does anyone know of a fitting that might slip on the suction side of the tunze pump? I'm hoping I can find an adapter or have one machined. I know the itech skimmers have a custom venturi for them.
