Has anyone tried or are using one of the EHEIM compact+ 5000, or compact+ range?

Sound pretty good and im looking for a new pump to use as my return on the small saltwater tank im doing, best bit about this range is their size and they have a controller that can control the flow, as with the largest in the range the Compact+ 5000, that im looking at can be adjusted from 2500lt/h- 5000lt/h.
To me it seems to run quite a low wattage for a 5000lt/h pump as well.
So what are your thoughts, good and bad I want to hear them

I don't have any personal expeirence with this pump, but have used the jebao DC and RLSS DC pumps on all my systems and they work great. The Jebao DC6000 meets your criteria and is a bit cheaper. I have had one for almost a year and had no problems at all.

I use the 5000 and love it...I was going to get the DC6000 but my DC3000 is way underpowered for what they say

the DC3000 is suppose to do 800GPH but barely pushes 400 at 4ft

Veselym, how did you find the flow rate and quality of build of the compact+ 5000?

Being Eheim im guessing the quality is there and how long have you had it running for?

Thanks Wild, I will look into those other ones you talk about as well.

Cheers Global

I would guess the vibration Is helped by the suction cap feet?

How well does the valve work in reducing the pump, I only need around 2500ltr/h (660g/h) but be handy having the extra power if I decide I need it

if I find my original guesstimat of 2500lt/h is wrong :D

Has anyone else got anything else to add, good or bad about these pumps.

Or has one and can tell me how they run?

Cheers :)

Anyone else had any experience with this range of pump?

I have 2 of the eheim compact pumps. One is on my frag tank (I think it's the 3000 model), and I have a 2000 model on my fiancés office tank.

The eheim compacts are good pumps, but not great pumps. The eheim compact I have on my frag tank is a little noisy. It's not loud by any means, but there is a slight hum to it. I also noticed quite a bit of flow loss between cleanings of the pump. I recently gave the compact 3000 in my frag tank a vinegar bath, and the flow seemed to double. It had been about 6 months since I cleaned it last.
Now, If u need a GREAT pump in the 1000gph range, look at the Fluval SP2. I've ran eheims, mag pumps, quiet ones, Jebao, Rios etc etc. The quietest most reliable pump I've used has been the Askoll/Laguna/Fluval Sea pumps. They are the same motor blocks used on the original bubble King skimmers and the ATB skimmers. (Red dragon/flowstar)
