Hi. Wondering if you could build the ultimate sump what would you include & why ? If you could change 1 thing in your current sump , what would that be. & why ! What sump size in ratio to your tank would you choose. ? If you have a picture of your ultimate sump let's see it. !

For me I have a 210g tank so I have lot's of space. I'd go with a 75g if I could but I'd have to tear my tank down and build a new stand to fit it.

Multiple. Why cram a fuge and everything else in one tank? Biggest tank/s possible.

I built this sump a few months ago. It is a 40 gallon breeder underneath a 140. My plans are to add a 37 gallon refugium tank behind the display tank soon. No fuge in this sump. There is a frag section though. It has been in operation since June and so far, I have been pleased with it.

I would suggest that you make sure that anything that you put into the sump (pumps, reactors, filter socks, skimmer, etc) is easy to get to and remove for maintenance. In my sump, everything that needs frequent maintenance is mounted at the front of the sump and can be easily removed to be cleaned or refilled. The reactors are connected to the manifold with quick disconnects and shut off valves.

This is my new 5ft sump i built ready to go under my 5x2x2.5. i always love lots of room and water volume :)
first large chamber is for my monster hydra and 3x filter socks,
second chamber is for my marine pure balls,
third is going to be for 3 reactors carbon, all in one pellets and fluidised sand and alot any probes and what not
fourth is return pump and ato sensor
fifth is ATO reservoir.
regret im thinking is i wanted to put a second dc12 return as a back up and refilling of ato chamber. might have to make some sort of a funnel system :)
