This is the first time I've had a Reef Ready tank with a built in overflow.
I'm not sure how tall I should make the drain pipe that goes in the overflow.

My current tank has an old fashion overflow that has the siphon tube and my 1st tank years ago I have 1" pipes that wen all the way from the water level I wanted at the top down to drilled holes in the bottom of the tank. The pipes were basically the over flow.

So I got the 90 gallon last week and am starting to set it up, but I just don't know how tall the drain pipe in the overflow should be.
Bring it to the top where the inner wall of the overflow is?
Halfway down?
or at the bottom so there is not to much water in the overflow?

You're advice is appreciated.

Thanks;

To the top! You don't want water rushing over the top and having to fall a long way down. :)

OK thanks Rev.

I think I may go a little below the top because I'm going to set up my ReefAngel to control the speed of the pump so there is always a bit of water above the top of the pipe and then there is no sucking or gurgling noise.

Like Roberto from Reef Angel did.
