I think it's made alittle better now. The one my friend has is light in weight. Mine is heavier. I've left mine at his house and that's how I figured which one was mine. The part that I don't like about them is they aren't sealed. I dropped mine in water and it filled up so yea I guess they aren't all that good

I hate the DD the scale is so hard to read. I order sybons for my maintenance crew. It's heavier than other refractometers also which to me feels higher quality

This is the one I use. BRS has it on sale for $83 regular $120. I will never use anything else it's awesome!

I've been using mine for five months and I have yet found the need to calibrate. I check it about every other weekend when mixing water with two different test solutions. I may just be lucky thus far, but it's always been dead on the test solutions. And yes, it's very easy to use.

I use the Milwaukee myself. Excellent refractometer. Its big though. Larger than I expected. Very accurate.
