I just bought this pump used. Not very happy with it. jebao is much better. MP40 has Loud hums... Loud rattling...

Anyone know how to fix it? Im sure I aligned the pump correctly. The only thing that was not included is the suction pad for the dry side... Its manufactured in Jan 19 2012... How does the warranty work?

Theses a part that breaks inside that cause loud noise you may want to make sure the pump is not damage on the inside I have two that have been running for years with no noise issue my two jebaos on my two other tanks are way louder

Did you set the dry-side for the thickness of your glass? If that isn't right, it will make noise.

OK. Try setting thickness to 1/4 inch and see if that helps.

I've never run mine without the rubber pad, but would imagine that it helps in dampening the vibrational noise from the dry side. Either make one up (looks to be about 1/16 inches thick), or order one up from Ecotech.

If the dry side is set for the proper glass thickness, the rubber gasket is used, and the wetside is not loose or misaligned, the pump should not rattle. The motor does hum as the pump ramps up and down, but this really isn't all that loud. These pumps do eventually need replacement bearings, so I suppose that's a possibility in a used pump.

Could be the bearings on the dry side. You can get new bearings and swap them out.
