My fixture is 72" hamilton cebu 3x 400w Mh an 4x 80w T5. The tank is standard 24" deep 180 gallon. I currently have the lights 6" above the tank. Should I go higher??

Thanks in advance

The manufacturer should be the best source for that information, I would hope. Wow, that sounds like a lot for 24 inches deep!

Yes I am starting to think so but it was a good deal on a 72" fixture I could not pass it up

I would say get them up about 10-12 inches. With 3 400w MH and T5 you have more than enough light. I used 250w MH over my 24" deep tank and grew everything with no problems.

2- 250w, I ran 4 cooling fans in the canopy to keep the water from heating up.

Thanks I am using a chiller I never used mh before but have read about the heat issues so I added the chiller to my build.
