Looking to get a calcium reactor for my 250 gallon tank mostly sps..heavily stocked. Looking for input on geo 612 or anything comparable. Bang for the buck, reliability and ease of use. I dont want to spend hours fiddling with it to get it restarted from excess co2 buildup airlocking the pump etc.

Hands down the GEO reactors rock. I run the 618 on my 250 cube and it is flawless all the time and works perfect. I control it with Apex and couldn't be happier!!!!

How many Hydra 52's you have on that tank?

Thanks guys I am going to go with a geo 618. I hope it will do ok. Ehiem pumps are built to last so it should be a good unit. Seems like no one has anything bad to say about them. My last one was a deltec pf501. Nice unit but it was a real pita to get the top off to service it and fill with media.

Thank you all for the interest. I am disgusted with my vertex, and I'll have to switch to a geo then. I should have done that three yrs ago. Another mistake I have to learn from. Sent them an email and they did not even respond, just wanted to let every body know so you don't get burned like me.

GEO is a perfect choice, LifeReef reactors aren't that bad either, but what ever you choice will be PLEASE get the best Regulator on the market for it.

CarbonDoser Electronic Co2 Regulator

I run this setup too, GEO 618 with the Digital Co2 Regulator and nevr have an issue on to much Co2 or not enough.
Easy plug and play and super awesome adjustment but once set you forget.
And YES on hooking this up to your controller, it's on my APEX.

For $1100 starting it's not to far off from the cash needed to run a ca reactor. Controller , probe, reg,and reactor. The only thing that might not come with is the tank.

I on the other hand just installed my new skimz carx Monday. So far I like it but have to give it more time to give it a glowing endorsement. I used to use an aqua c rx and I definitely like the skimz better .

Good for you I have friends in Germany with this one. An it is just killer. It works way better than any thing else on the market. Post videos and pictures when you get it up and running. [emoji108]

I'm in the market for a Calcium reactor. I have narrowed it down to the following 2 reactors for my 120 Mixed Reef system. Both have Excellent reviews but the only thing is I can't find a US supplier who carries's the Ultrareef but a UK company. Either reactor, I will be going with the I will be getting the Carbondoser Electronic co2 reg to go with either one: Would love to hear your thoughts and comments?
