Some have said don't use the 100g rubbermaid stock tank as a sump because the stock bulkhead has problems. Is this so? If so, can the problem be fixed?

Thanks

Yea just drill out the stock bulkhead and glue your own in. I did that. :)

Did you do it because the stock one failed or because you where afraid it might?

What size did you use?

i also use a 100 gallon rubber maid but my sump drains into it and I use it as a fuge with 200 pounds of live rock. What I did was fill in the stock hole and drill another and added my own bulk head! Haven't had any problems at all!

Some people use the stock bulkhead and add a ton of sealent. I personally bought a 1.25" bulkhead and used my dremel to grind the opening just enough to get the new bulkhead to fit. I also have many friends that have done the same thing. Its very easy and works great.

most folks seem to be saying "better safe than sorry" especially since some have been sorry.
