Help Wanted: RO/di does not fit faucet

I purchased the 4 stage brs ro/di used from another reefer. It came wit the faucet attachment but does not fit any of the sinks in my apt. What can I do? I can not drill into plumbing since I am renting. I figure there has to be some sort of aftermarket part. Please point in the right direction.

I saw there is an attachment/splitter to put on on the incoming cold watter line uder sink but I prefer the easy faucet set up. I do not have enough room under sink for permenant placement.

Time to make a trip to Home Depot... I had the same problem but I was able to find one that fit. I just brought the piece from the sink with me to compare.

The adapter you got should work if its a faucet and not hose style fitting. Just unscrew the screen on the faucet where the water comes out and take that with. Match it up.... ro line is 1/4 " size or just say its the same as a freezer ice cube maker size line if they ask

ok thanks, i took that apart on every sink/faucet in the apt. Not one will work. When I remove the screen and place the ro adapter, it will neither go over the end of faucet nor slide inside. Basically, it matches right up and makes it unable to screw anything.

I am more worried about size of adapter is suppose to go on the sink. It seems the current one does not fit or it is male to male if that makes any sense.

if you are referring to the water supply, you might be able to use this
Aqua FX - Aquarium Water Filters - Inline Sink Adaptor
it connects to the supply under the sink

I just looked at sink again, the threads on the sink are on the interior. That is why the supplied adapter will not work. Is there something i can buy to change the threads from interior to exterior via screw on adapter. like a sex changer....

Take the aerator and the adapter to home depot, ace, lowes, etc. I've seen the little aerator station at each of them. There will be a place you can screw on your aerator to see what size thread it is, then you'll need to do the same with your adapter... once you've got both, just find an adapter to go from your aerator thread to your adapter thread. If the adapter has a garden hose thread, they make a piece for a dishwasher that works perfectly... i have one.

can you just buy a double male thread that will thread into both? plumbing section at home depot

if worse comes to worse replace the faucet.
personally I would use the needle valve just below the faucet conections with a quick connect ball valve ( so you can turn it off and disconect the ro when you arent using it )
