Or if any R2R sponsors that breed them. I'll mail order if I have to.

I would like 4 for a 120 mixed reef.

A mixed pair would be great, but I don't know if I feel lucky enough to mix breeds. 2 saddle backs and 2 nakeds would be ideal..or 2 yellow percs.

Hey folks! I previously had a 26g bow front with sand, and moved within the last year. Started up just a basic 10g with Carib Sea Aragonite 'Seaflor special grade reef sand' with grains anywhere from 1.0 - 2.0 mm in size. It's much bigger than what I'm used to, and I honestly hate the stuff. I miss sand! Is there any sort of safe, non-destructive, and semi-neat way to siphon out all of the substrate and replace it with sand, without tearing the entire tank apart? I was thinking about siphon out the gravel, and slowly lower cups of the sand into the tank once it's been rinsed thoroughly. Any better ideas? I don't want to crash anything by taking away that much lovely bacteria, but not sure what else to do. Heres a pic of the tank too.

Well I have been lurking on the site for about 6 months with not much to say. I have be contemplating setting up a nano for myself for sometime now. I am going to try to do a thrifty build with most of the stuff already owned. I have a marineland 10 gallon that I am going to drill and build an over flow for. I have an all in one sump, skimmer and return pump. Then I'm going to buy a nightstand off craigslist for 20$. I have an extra 120w 2:1 led laying around that I am going to use. I have some south down sand and live rock curing in the sump of my 300. Most if not all of the coral will come from my 300 and my own frag tank or local reefers.

Options I'm still contemplating is making the tank rimless. Guess that depends if I have to go by a new tank after trying to drill. I will include pictures of the stuff I start with.<a href="http://www.reef2reef.com/forums/attachments/nano-90-build-off-competition/29370-majicmikes-nano-90-imageuploadedbytapatalk1337223587.498125.jpg" title="Name:

Greeting guys,

My name is Adam Jackson and I am new to the forum. I will admit I am typically weary of forums but after watching this one for a few weeks and getting to know the Admins and members through Facebook whether personally or professionally, your insatiable welcoming and family friendly attitudes made me want to take the leap and start a personal account here, so here is a little background on myself.

I have been an aquarium hobbyist for 20 years.

I have been a marine aquarium hobbyist for 14 years.

Living in Southern California I am an avid swimmer, sailor and diver, though unlike most due to my swimming ability I prefer free diving to SCUBA when possible.

I have been a part of the expert crew at Bob Fenner's website Wetwebmedia since 2003.

I have been an on again off again contributor to magazines and e-magazines such as Conscientious Aquarist and Tropical Fish Hobbyist since 2004.

From 2003-2006 I worked as head aquarist at a private wholesaler which also included aquaculture of Cnidaria and some fish.

I have held the position of Husbandry intern at the Aquarium of the Pacific for about a year now, though I have currently been reassigned to education and exhibit interpretation, including tours and lessons to school children. During my time in husbandry I focused on temperate fisheries and temperate reefs, dietary needs of fish and the care and breeding of elasmobanchii and endangered

I currently work for Transworld Aquatics and Aquanautics as a Biology and Marketing Consultant [Though this is a private account and my views/advice/opinions does NOT reflect those of my employers]

Though I have a lot of experience in the hobby and trade, both as a hobbyist and professionally my main area of study and occupation for most of my adult life has been in law enforcement and law, though as of last year I made the decision to do what I love and return to school for Marine Biology and Itchyology in general.

Oh other than that I'm pretty much the king of typos :), I look forward to meeting and "geeking out" about fish with all of you and thank Dave for the invite,

The upgrade can mean so many things but judging from the picture and the efficiency boost I am going to wager on some improved efficiency LED's and some added spectrum to boot. The orginal lenses weighed in at 130-140 watts 34 leds while the newer lens will be sporting 42 leds per module. I dont see in the article if anymore power is going to be used to get this 30% boost or if were getting more efficient leds that will harness the same juice to put out extra power. Whatever the case, I am amped, what do you guys think?

Man, I have been making it through this tank for about 2 months now, It actually started out looking really nice and then came the GH algae and found out that the fixture I bought used had 2yr old bulbs in it,lol. First stupid mistake. Then came the diatoms which was ok to deal with. Just lasted a bit. So no big deal, and then I never thought to set up a quarantine tank, next stupid mistake cause I had an ick breakout, I tried to take care of it as the LFS suggested some kind of treatment that didn't have copper in it. Yeah that didn't work so I tried to transfer them and I'm guessing I stressed them to much and lost them all but 1. I have now been going for a little over a month now trying to rid the ick for sure now. And now I have cyano I think. It's brown and stringy and smothering the few little frags that I have started with. Today for the very first time I actually thought to myself that this is more work than what it is worth, but I'm also staring at a fishless algae covered aquarium. Lol. Just keep telling myself it's only gonna get better
