Default Need advice on removing an Abalone

I need some help in safely removing an abalone. I was removing some rock and stored it in another hoding tank while I was doing some maintenance and during that time the abalone decided to explore the glass. I tried sliding it off the glass but it is too strong. Then I tried even harder to slide it off the glass and it started to spew out a cloud of some sort. I really don't want to hurt the thing eventhough it was a stowaway.
Should I use a razor blade to get underneath is foot?

Algae scraper, slide underneath the foot. A razor-blade is too likely to cut him.

^ O good call. I use my Petsmart card to open the bathroom door when it locks itself shut from the inside and I need to get in. Haha, I'm a regular cat-burglar.
