For those who dont know my tank it only has a small amount of sand in it anyway just for looks . My sand stays bright white but my problem w/th it is when i cut the flow up for my sps it blows the sand all aroung leaving the bottom glass exposed anyway..
What do ya'll think ??? |

| I went BB for yrs and when I redid my tank back in Oct I put sand back in. Now I wish I would of stayed BB. I like the look of sand but hate the cleaning and it getting blown around. When I upgrade (hope this yr) Im going back BB with star board on the bottom |

I did the same thing this past year. I'm going to suck the sand out soon.

I thought about doing that as I put the rock in before I put the sand in but its going to be a pain to get it all out |

| I have a ten gallon shop vac just for the tank that I'll use. It's great for sucking detritus up too.

| I like sand and I wish it would stay put and clean. But I can't see mine without sand, it just doesn't do it for me.

| I seen a build once that someone took a piece of acryllic cut to the size of the bottom of the tank then put resin on it and then sand. Then shook the extra off and then put in the tank. Then put your sand on top. What it does is if the sand does blow around then there is stilll no bare spots because of the sand glued to the acryllic. Thinking of doing this myself but not adding the extra sand and just keeping the acrylic on the botton, nice look of sand wit out the maintence. JMO |

They don't need to see cuss words with a star filling in as a letter to go around the filter. There's a reason those words are filtered out. Rev doesn't want them used on this site. Don't take offense, it's not personal.
This is the best site there is for this hobby. Let's all do our part to keep it that way.
