Feed, clean, feed, clean, feed, clean.

Never successfully raised any, but had a couple batches of some smaller species I got out to a week or so. H. erectus should be among the easier species to breed. Good luck! Baby seahorses are adorable.

I got some new newborns on 3/4/2010. He got pregnant again the next day. I saw a lot of eggs on the floor, though. So, I know it'll be a small batch. The 3/4/2010 hatch was a small batch. I probably have like 15-20 of my first batch left. Bad, but better than I expected for my first time, so...

Here's the best comparison shot I have:

nice close ups

may I ask what kind of camera you use to get such good close ups
I recently bought a new digital that gets 12x but cannot seem to make it focus at that small of a range.
I am no photographer so I am clueless.

thanks and nice babies I hope to have some baby grammas this summer.

There's only one left from the first batch. But he's holding on. I've been slacking on keeping the tank clean so I can only blame myself.

I have the Canon Powershot sd1200 IS.
I use the macro mode for all the close-ups. It's a simple point and shoot camera, but gives great photos. I love it!

I am so excited for you. This is something that I aspire to do one day, but I am not quite there yet. Keep us posted on the process because I would like to hear the challenges, rewards etc. Good luck with everything!

The Nice Thing about attempting to raise Seahorse Babies for the first time is,
If the First batch does not make it.
There will be another batch of babies in a few days.

My pair is on a 21 day schedule.
