A month ago i was given the opportunity to pick up a pair for a steal of a deal!!! Unfortunately the female has been missing since day two . The male is a pig eating NLS and Flakes just like the rest of my anthias and he holds his own along with a pair of lyretails and bartletts! But i blame my male lyretail for the disappearance of my female!!! :rip:

I had one for several months, doing very good. It was actually one of the easier anthias for me to get to start eating. Then suddenly one day he was gone. No where to be found, searched high and low for him for days.

Congrats on the nice fish. A great joy to own.

Beautiful fish! I have had a pair for almost a couple years now. They prefer cooler water and I keep mine at 77 degrees because of this.

Much mahaloz everyone!!!

Thats my biggest worry for the long term is the temp...hard to keep my tank at 77 deg here in Vegas my tank constantly sits at 79-80deg. i run leds and use a Ehiem 1262 pump. i think the canopy doesn't help out but he is definitely happy and healthy from what I see.

Im not to sure what region he came from.

he seem pretty small to mess up a shrimp...LOL...but very interesting article thanks for the read

This species try to keep the temperature at 24c ~ 25c, only to hold some of the beautiful colors and longevity.
