Hey everyone!

So I've been wanting a green Mandarinfish for a while but I just wanna make sure that I will be prepared before I get one. This is what I have in my tank,

38 gallon innovative marine tank

2 Anthias

1 royal gramma

4 chromis

Had the tank up and running for about a year and a half.

LPS/SPS/Softies

----------------------------------------------------------------

Nitrate 0

Ammonia 0

Phosphate 0

Calcium 410 ppm

ALK 8.2 DKH

Mag 1335

SG 1.025

Do you guys think I can get a small Mandarinfish?

Yes.

Make sure the mandarin you select is eating frozen foods. Simply just tell your LFS that you want to see him feed the mandarins. Pick the one that is antsy and happy to eat.

Sure, you could always feed live brine but the it is so much easier feeding frozen.

You should read Paul B's thread on 40 year birthday tank. Paul keeps mandarins that spawn regularly,( a sure sign of good health) and he has a feeder that feeds live food that he raises.

No! Yes do read Paul B's thread on keeping Mandarins. But don't take just what you want from it. He keeps that feeder filled at all times, with live foods. Very time consuming for sure. Still his Mandarin's hunt for Copepods in his very mature, much larger tank!
