Hi thanks for letting me join. I am in need of some help I have just found my chalk gobie dead when I removed it from the tank I found it had a hole in its stomach he was swimming around an hour ago although I noticed something had been nipping his finns. The only fish I have in the tank with him are a yellow tang , a aiptasia filefish and I also have a hermit crab and a turbo snail. I have never noticed the any of the fish paying any notice of him has anyone had this happen b4 or no what would of done this, I loved watching the little guy.

More than likely, one of the fish was picking on him or he was already sick. The hole in his stomach is probably an after death wound made from your clean up crew doing their part. Cleaning up. Sorry for your loss. Welcome to the forums tho.

Welcome. Don't lose confidence. Even the best enthusiasts lose a fish now and again. You become a bad hobbiest when you don't learn from the same mistake over and over again.

Go have some fun. It's a beautiful day.
