mine will go from deep yellow to pale and back again in minutes. it will raise it's fins every now and then even though it's by far the largest fish in a peaceful tank.

no predatory fish but there is a crab that I have been trying to get that is the size of a bottle top =1" and maybe they have seen it
both have no black spot and the smaller one the yellow is faded
as for the spikes they go up and down when someone comes near the tank and when swimming I do notice that the bigger one picks on the smaller one sometimes but they go off swimming together ...they seem to swim ok ..in and out of the rocks ...eat lettuce and broccoli leaves etc there is not much algae there apart from the rear glass there is algae film I take out grape caulerpa from the sump and attach to a rock and they eat that
