Hi,
So I had to get rid of my clown goby because it was nipping at my acans. I'm pretty sure I trained it to though, because I would feed my acans and he would swim over and eat the food out of its tentacles. Eventually, it still nipped when the food wasn't there. I want to get a bicolor/midas/tailspot blenny but am afraid of teaching it to eat LPS, like I did my clown goby. How likely is this?

Thanks!

Also, what fish can I get that will have as much personality as a clown goby? I have a 29 gal biocube. I was thinking a flasher wrasse, but I don't know how much personality those have.

clown goby are known to nip at clams and coral. I wanted to get a bunch of them but decided against it. Get a starry blenny, even more personality.

I've had issues with a bicolor but so far no issues with my tailspot blenny. I have the same size tank as yours and I think the tailspot is really a great fish for that amount of space.

My lawnmower blenny picks food off my acans all the time, but he never just picks at the corals w/out food. I also have a 29gal bio cube. I just added a greenbanded goby and that lil fella is awesome!

Thanks. How long have you had the tailspot?

Eek! I won't get one of those then... I am upgrading to a larger reef sometime soon, hopefully around January, and maybe then I will get a blenny. I think I might just stay away and not risk it... maybe a yasha goby or flasher wrasse. How much personality do flashers have?

I REALLY want a starry blenny, but am afraid that even in my 150g tank, the midas will be a prick, since he tends to be so with other fish....

Flasher wrasse is not a good fish for that size tank in my opinion. I have a yasha haze goby and candy stripe pistol pair that are really fun to watch and would be great in a nano tank.

No flasher wrasse? Alright, I'll wait til my upgrade for a flasher. I guess I'm set on a yasha then. Maybe a yellow assessor?

Ooops, sorry, didn't notice your tank size. Midas blenny = too big. Tailspots are great for that size tank.

Yellow assessor would also be a cool addition. The assessor's can be very skittish so do not house it with fish that tend to be aggressive.

What fish do you have now, guess we should have asked that first.

2 Black/White Clowns and 1 red firefish. Plenty of room for an assessor or yasha I think.

I don't think the midas blenny will pick on the starry blenny. At least in my experience, it didn't. I will tell you that their personalities are totally different. Whereas the starry blenny will almost act like a puppy of the sea, the midas will be like a entertainer. :)
