I bought a serpent starfish last week. My lps couldnt take him out of the fake coral so they gave me him with everything. I added him to the tank but he wont come out of that ugly plastic rock. Anyway to take him out? He is not stuck iv seen him come out a little to eat but he goes back in their. I just placed him near a hole on my live rock hopefully he will go in... I did not feed him today maybe he will go out to scavenge a little. If not then im out of ideas.

hold it over the water with a few arms touching the surface, Or crack open the fake decoration carefully. Last but not least put a spotlight on it, as it will attempt to move away from the light.

The best thing about them is that you don't see them, but
It's a great treat when you finally catch him pop up one night.
Be prepared though, I thought mine was dead a few times.
I sometimes go months without seeing mine.

I must have social stars, both my red and "regular" come out everyday when I feed.

I have both black and tiger serpents (1 each) in my 30g. They are always out and about. I've had them 2 years and I see them daily. When I put my hands in the tank, they come grab ahold and inspect, and they go nuts at feeding. They are extremely active. These are not my first serpents and their behavior is in line with those I've had in the past. They are among my favorite stars!
