Is the bird nest healthy? Notice any bugs?

Cut top off water bottle flip it upside down and stick into bottle. What goes in can't figure out how to get back out. Tie string around it to pull it out of tank. Put some food in it and place near were shrimp hangs out. Sit back and wait. May take a few tries for it to go for it and may be easier after lights out. I have done this many of times with pest and shrimp in the past.

I had to take 2 out of my tank yesterday. They busted up one of my Leptastrea. One of my acans was closed up close to a week and i am assuming they were the problem. Only had them 3 weeks. But i noticed things were "off" in my tank. They were really aggressive eaters, i put a large net in the tank then baited them into it with food. They caught on to the feeding schedule quickly. Soon as my power heads went off they came running to eat. They did clear up my aiptasia though.

Did you put it near were it stays? How long did you leave it?
Try at lights out too if you haven't

Large fairy wrasse. Almost joking. I've never had much luck with pepermints. They never last long I'm my tank, probably because of my wrasses. I got a copperband butterfly a couple of years ago and haven't seen an aptasia since. Are you baiting the bottle?

I usually just use some brine or pellet food. Do they come out when you feed the tank?

from my personal experience, peppermints/shrimp tend to feast on unhealthy coral, and or when they are underfed. maybe thats the case for you?
