I Vote T5 because it seems that My Chalices do good in my Aquarium with T5 Lighting but tend to die in my other Aquariums that have LED Lights.

Thanks. It's a Tyree bubblegum monster. Chalices don't grow real fast for me but it get great color. I'm not much of a chalice guy so I don't know how fast they are supposed to grow but they grow way slower than my sps. This one was on a small square plug about 4-5 eyes when I got it.

How long did it take to get that big?

Did it cover a 1" Square Plug completely?

I got it in October 2012. It didn't grow much for a while. I moved it around and didn't find a good spot for it. I never feed it. Once I decided on a spot it started growing. I didn't take any pics of it until it grew quite a bit. It didn't fully cover a 1/2" plug when I got it.

My two no name chalice's do great under LED's. IMO if you don't over light a chalice it should be fine under any full spectrum lighting.

I chose halide but I can't say why since the LED guys get offended lol ;)

I'm an led guy and I don't get offended. ;)

I do get tired of people telling me my corals are going to die under LEDs.

MH are great, so are t5s. Power compacts are fine too over the right tank.

Have had best luck with MH's on my chalices. Chalices seem to achieve very deep colors.

I have had t5, led and mh. At certain times, i had each as main source at one time or another. I think best growth was with halide. As long as you provide shade. T5 is also good but not as much growth. LED had best color but growth was almost non existent.
