Red and green war coral

I have said coral and its half red half green like a two face or yin yang.Ive heard from 1 lfs this is two different corals on one plug,another said thats how its supposed to be hence the name war coral. Is it two different corals stinging each other? Is it just morphing colors?

Need a picture to tell that. War coral is a common name for favia that has green eyes. Usually red body but can be purple or light blue or combination of 2 colors. The combination is generally not from grafting just the normal colors. but i have seen grafted pieces. Typically not grafted but fused. The colors do not bleed into each other. stayed two separate colonies, just glued together.

War coral does not mean fused or grafted, just a variety of favia. But a picture will tell what you have.

Its one coral, not fighting itself or anything like that. That's just normal coloration.

Appreciate it, do you think it will continue to be half and half or one color.will become the majority as it grows?

Depends how It grows, nobody can predict that.

I have seen some war corals look like that. No two have the exact color sharing ratio or patterns. As paulkreider said it depends. It may grow that way with a different separation. Or random color bleeds.

definitely a war coral :wink: but they commonly get that pattern
