Absolutely gorgeous Craig! I love the way your lights make the chalices glow. What are you currently running?

WOW, that acan is absolutely amazing! Sounds like you just picked it up but if you're ever up for fragging I'll send my next born your way.

Thanks guys. I am running a 10 bulb ATI Powermodule. Bulb combo is:

Back
Super Actinic
AquaBlue Special
Blue +
Super Actinic
Blue +
AquaBlue Special
Blue +
AquaBlue Special
Blue +
Super Actinic
Front

The spectrum fits my taste and I can grow SPS and chalices without an issue. I should mention that my frag tank is 40"x30"x9" and the fixture is about 15" off the water. It's more light than I need but I have bigger plans down the road.

What are the names of the 4th and 6th ones? I'm getting the Illuminati delivered on Wednesday from Andrew so I'm way excited over that :)

#4 - Still working on a name - any ideas?

#6 Got if from Victor (WWC). No name I don't think - perhaps he'll chime in. He just calls it Pink and Green.

Valid question Ian. Two part answer. Yes, all of the bulbs are on. However, in order to block out any direct glare from the bulbs themselves, I have to push the fixture away from the front of the tank about 4 inches in order to get the shot. I shoot top down on a black piece of acrylic. So yes, the bulbs are all on but the shots will always come out a bit darker due to the fact I have to push the fixture out a bit. Hope that helps.

Definitely :D

I always wondered how you took your (sweet) pix :xd:

You put the black acrylic in for the shots and remove it afterward?

I actually cut out a 4x6" piece of acyrlic and glued it to the waterside of a magfloat. It acts as a shelf and a good black background to shoot down on the corals. I "jimmy rig" my tripod and get my camera just above the waterline. What's nice about the acrylic glued to the mag float is you can move it up or down to get as much / little of the coral in the pic. I actually leave it in my frag tank and when it's not holding frags for photos, it acts as a good shade shelter for low light corals.

It's nothing fancy but it does the job...lol

Hey Craig, I dont know if you remember me but i met you Sat. night at the meet at Mike's house. You have some beautiful stuff on your hands. I hope to get some from you very soon. I will be in touch about coming by to look at the tank and the saw you told me about. If you have time shoot me a PM of the link for the saw if you dont mind.
