Blue Slimer is a acropora yongi. Just like the green but a purple/blue phase. It's been around a lot longer that ProCorals. I also believe it's maricultured these days. Can be finicky to draw out a deep blue/purple pigment from it some times. Here is someones beautiful colony I found on Pinterest.

Agreed. Blue slimer is a common name slapped on a blue stag. Acroprora formosa are also called slimers.

Seen that too. And looking at that pic that might even be a formosa.

So is it a Blue Stag or is it actually a Green Slimer just Blue?

Does it Slime Up like the Green Slimer?

Is it Bulletproof like the Green Slimer?

For me it is hardy, it slimes like no other. I am not sure if it is a stag or not, if I was to guess I would say no.

The Pro Corals Blue Slimer was A. yongei, so yes, the same as Green Slimer, just blue.

Thanks for the input all. Snagged a piece at a frag swap and was thinking that it was probably some blue stag.

Is it Hardy and a Fast Grower like the Green Slimer?

If so I have to get some.

Are there other Slimers out there besides Green and Blue?

IMO it's hardy but was tough to get to color up like I wanted. Formosa was a lot easier to get to color up. Another pretty purple/blue stag horn is a a.hoeksemai. The a.yongi is coined "slimer" because it slimes up a lot more so than other acropora's especially when cut. I'm sure there are other colors out there. There's a couple corals like the Red Robin stag which species I'm not too sure of, maybe a yongi or formosa but definitely a red stag.

I got this from a friend and I believe it is maricultured formosa. It doesnt slime like my green slimer. When it was in his tank it had a teal blue color, but once moved to mine all the new growth was a purplish/blue.

I have a newer piece that resembles the green with blue tip in color but looks much different than my green slimer - but it slimes like crazy when I touch it. I'll see if I cant find a pic.
