Hey Reefers,
Hope all is well!
I thought it was a good day to take some pics of the tank. I took two different types of pics. Raw images that use a grey card for white balance and full auto that have a touch too much blue for my tastes. The camera is a Canon Rebel T2i with a stock lense. The tank is a custom made 100g rimless lit by an ATI 8x80 Sunpower. The tank uses the full ZEO system. There is about a fist size piece of live rock and a couple of cups of sand. Other than that, this tank relies on ZEO for biological filtration. The Octopus XP 3000-int helps too. Anyways, hope you enjoy.
Warmest Regards,
James

Hi Solar,

There are times when I really enjoy the racks, and there are times I really miss my LR. I originally did have a black sand bed and some LR, but had to remove due to black bugs. I dosed 7.5 tabs of interceptor over a 4 day period and destroyed my pod and crab population. With all of the lingering death in the sand bed and LR, I had a continuous issue with phosphate. I removed all pieces of LR as well as all of the sand. Once removed, my phosphate dropped to near 0 levels and was once again managable. Of course now I have a completely unnatural looking tank, but I can manage my bacterial filtration with the use of ZEO.

The good thing about the racks is the ability to easily place my corals without fear of knocking them over. The bad thing is the unnatural look as well as the need for added flow underneath the racks. I need the flow because of how I created my racks. I wanted the most room for placing coral, but at the expense of water movement between each set.

Warmest Regards,
James

Beautiful sps! What's in the bowl in the bottom?

:) That is my Melanarus Wrasse's sand mattress. He sleeps in there at night. Once in a while, he'll go half way in the sand and dance around for me. Now that I think about its time for me to change his sand.

Lol, that's a good idea. You should get a pic of that.

Hi Jason,

Wow! Great to hear from you. I remember snoop and your plate coral collection. Barry is doing very well and is a giant moose! I miss Wisconsin and really need to get back out there. One of these days I will have to journey back for a swap.

Warmest Regards,
James

Hi Matt,

Hope all is well!

I completely forgot about it, but I have about a cup and a half of sand in another tupperware container holding some frogspawn up in my sump. Other than that, nope! No other sand or LR. Completely reliant on my zeo for bacterial filtration.

Its nice just being able to focus on growing an SPS garden without worries of frags falling into each other.

Did you have any questions you would like me to answer?

Warmest Regards,
James
