Not trying to knock LEDs but I didnt see one SPS dominated tank. Most of the pictures where LPS and softies with some small SPS sticks. Nothing to make me swith over from Halids. Your thoughts?

Can anyone share their lighting cycle
Sent from my DROID RAZR MAXX HD
these look great and I love the large LED spread over the fixture. I haven't heard anything about fan noise. How noticeable is it on a quite tank?
I didn't see an option to change to 12hr time. It is really simple to convert though, just subtract 12 from any number larger than 12 to get your standard time equivalent.
1300 = 1pm
1400 = 2pm
etc...
I am still tweaking my light schedule, but I have the moons come on at 930am at a power of 2 LOL I can't even tell they are on with the ambient room light, so that will need to change. I have them fade to off at 1230 from a power of 2, which looks cool, as there is no room light at that time.
I have my "high noon" from 3-5pm which I think I will also change, as I am not home during the week at those times.
Please don’t take offense but what how mature is the tank? Yes, LEDs will keep the SPS alive but they don’t see much growth. Many reef hobbyists have switched from halides to LEDs then back. I myself considered LEDS to avoid the heat issue and power usage. Here is a picture of my tank with I’m slowly moving away for softies and more towards SPS. The SPS are just over a year old and taking over the rocks. I have two 250watt Halides with two super actinic VHOs on my 150 tall. My RBTAs love the light and have split 4 times in one year. I don’t dose or do water test except for the salinity of the water I put into the tank. I have a RBTA the size of a softball in my 29 Biocube with LEDs and it have never split.

And what LEDs were you using? I know of a mature sps reef tank (broken down a few months ago) that grew under ONLY LEDs. It had mature colonies, and excellent colors. Here are some of my frags that grew to their larger size in less than 6 months:If LEDs work for you great. I think LEDs are perfect for a softies of LPSs dominated tank. But I’m yet to see a SPS display tank with nice mature growth with color. LEDs are still new to the Reefer Hobby and when changing the light spectrum from Halides to LEDs could cause harm to SPS. I have seen some Local Fish stores set up a Display Tanks with LEDs and again not impressed. I do understand not all LEDs are equal which is another challenge when buying LEDs. I’m the type of person seeing is believing. Showing some inch frag sticks growing under LEDs is not enough for me to switch. My 29 Biocube has 2 LED strips with 2 compact lights which works great on birdsnest coral, LPS, BTAs, clams and softies. I have a clam live in my Biocube a year and slowly lost color turning a dark purple. After a month under Halides at the bottom of a 150 tall tank the color came back with the colors you see in the picture. I can claim the LEDs did a excellent job maintaining Crocea clams but which lighting was better? Which lighting gives the fastest growth and color or maybe a better question which lighting gives the fastest growth and color for the money? Once I see a mature healthy SPS dominated tank that has been under LEDs for a year then maybe I would switch to LEDS. The proof is in the performance not the lighting specs. My opinion is not biased due to I’m not trying to sell anyone on a product.
