Is it overkill or would there be a problem, if i were to mix my 2x250w halides along with radion fixture, looking to move more into sps and want to ensure good growth while supplementing blues in the tank with the LEDs. Let me know what you all think, Pros/Cons

Thanks!

how big is your tank, and with the dimming capabilities of LED its hard to go wrong. If its too much just dial it back.

I agree with deer hunter. While a radian is WAY overkill for the sole purpose of adding blues to your tank....it most certainly can be done. Just dial out the whites and dial down the power output. Hell, after a while of acclimating I'm sure you can pump the power.

80 Gallon Rimless, so 48 long, 24 wide, 16 high, just noticing some corals reacting bad to the radions, have them at 45% right now

make sure you acclimate them I'd say 45% is way to high for now I would start more at like 25% work your way up over 2 weeks to about 50% max

just out of curiosity but why start at 25%, coral seem find under 45%, just wondering tho as to why people start so low, i did come off of 250w halides previously before using the radion

maximum coverage of a stock radion is 30x30 even with wide angle lenses the max is only 36 inches.

i dont know seeing a wide angle lens in a store by me using only one fixture over their tank saw awesome growth, and with the radions being 30% more par than a 14k halide bulb might stick with just one unit and see what happens

and im feeling maybe it could be overkill, with halides added on to the tank as well, 2x250w halides and the radions...

I don't even know why you bothered asking for advice when you clearly already have your mind set
