Hi,

I was wondering if people have found similar issues that. Acantastrea getting orange over time under a led fixture.
I bought a couple of peaces some very expensive ultra rainbow. looking awsome at the time. But now after a year they completely lost there color.
Even a brown peace became highly orange.

Anyone else have these same experience.?

I am currently using the Aqua Medic GmbH fixture

Mine have held their purplish/pink color since I have had them....going on roughly 7 months under LEDs. I didn't notice any color change at all.

My full pink one did get a litle orange but is still mostly pink, all of ther other acans (15 of them) are still holding a range of colors (red, yellow, blue, purple, green and pink)

I have heard acans tend to morph colors under different lighting. Pretty common. I am not sure it is just LEDs though

I had the same problem but I believe I happens more when you take a wild rainbow acan than a named well known rainbow but I havent tested that theory yet. I only bought two different wild rainbows.

I believe too intense of lighting causes it to turn reddish orange. It's not proven but from my personal experience that's what happened. I placed my rainbow underneath a monti cap and it has retained its original color, with some bright green! All other acans (non rainbow & bi color) hasn't changed color at all under direct light

I heard this as well that lower light would make them rainbow again I'm trying it right now with one of my pieces.
