Best way to mount nanocube lid above tank rather than attached.

I have Steve's leds retrofitted in my 12g nano. I'd like to remove the lid of the tank and mount it above the tank to make room for more equipment in the sump area, such as a skimmer, reactor etc. I thought about mounting it to the wall behind the tank but am open to suggestions. Here's the setup now. The lid is wide open because my whites are a bit too bright and the dimmer switch is spotty. I have a driver I'll be installing soon. Here's how it looks now:

I used brackets for hanging closet shelves and mounted them to the wall. Then I used Velcro to attach the hood to the brackets. I can easily remove the hood to maintenance the tank.
