Need a new light for the frag tank I am setting up and really like the price and look of the AI Prime but was wondering if it would provide enough coverage for a tank with a foot print of 36x18x8. What do you all think?

You would need at least 2 to get good coverage. A hydra 52 would be a better solution if you want to go AI. It will give you pretty close to full coverage at about 12" above the water line

I got the AI prime for my jbj nano 24 and so far am very happy. Athough i yet to actually have it up and running on account im not ready to even cycle my tank, but have played with the light and it seems to have more coverage than they say.

After researching more lights, I am thinking of going with 2 kessils A160W lights.

Family Guy - That looks incredible. What are your current settings?

I'm putting together a 36x20x14 right now. It will have 2 AI Primes. I have 1 right now. Just waiting on the 2nd to show up FS. haha. I've got about 3 months before I even have the tank up.

If you don't mind me asking... Where did you get your tank with those dimensions? Im looking to build a shallow tank so I've been getting quotes all over the place.

I think that they will serve you well! I love my single Kessil A160we!
Yea I already had one and love it so I might as well keep all the same! Such a great brand, I wish they were on R2R.

Nice! I already had my Apex VDM module left from my other light for total control, so jumping into Kessil was an easy decision for me. My Superman Monti and Rainbow Acans have never looked better!
