Buddy of mine helping mount my radions above my new 220 gal aquarium. Love this way of mounting a lot more than fooling with rails or hangers. Also getting a nice 10" distance from water.

Thx. It's getting setup. Gonna move in some more LR and do another water change tomorrow. Just put what was in my 120 into 220. I haven't done any aquascaping yet.

I am doing this same upgrade. I have 2 radions over my 120 and I will be doing 3 over my new 220. My question is do you have shadows or is it enough light. I was thinking about adding a few t5s

It's enough light. I don't have any shadows. I need to take a pic at night so u really can see the contrast. I have 2 gen 1s with TIR lense upgrades. The radion in the center is a gen 3. So now I'm gonna send my 2 radions in to upgrade them to gen 3's. You can tell a
Difference.

I never would have thought so until I saw the middle G3 putting out a noticeable difference from the G2s. If I could of had all the same generation I wouldn't touch them. I think all generations do a good/great job. It's just a contrast when u mix.

Right now I'm at 60%..... I will increase but I had them at 50% on old tank. They were closed to water and I had a 24" Tank height vs a 30" now

Thanks!!! That's the only way I've ever mounted my radions. I had a 120 gal and upgraded to 220. Works great. No expensive rail system to buy. You can pull lights easy and clean, access top of lights easy and also more distance like you said
