I want to get started using Biopellets and I wanna what's the best reactor to use? Ive got around 100g total water volume. Id like something clean looking and most effective. Any recommendations would be great.

Thanks in advance.

Thanks for the reply AquaworldPSC! Are you running one right now? I was looking at those and I think im going to buy it to try it out. I really like the design on them, looks cleaner than the media reactors. Anyone else try these?

I found a few on ebay. They have another video on that thing, seems quiet?

+1 on the next reef smr1. I have it....hooked up a maxijet 1200 to it...was going to put a ball valve on it, but no need....tumbles the pellets just right....

I've heard great things about the Vertex reactor. I know Premium Aquatics carries them.

Honestly, I really don't think it matters which reactor you use as long as you can make the media do what it's supposed to. I personally have a smr1 and have nothing but good things to say about it. As another member already mentioned, AVAST has some cool looking stuff!

i have a next reef and i must say i would not ever buy another from them.
its never good to route a grove for an o-ring into a think 1/4" lid.
my next will be from avast

I made an "insump" reactor, I try to save as much heat as I can.
This is first try, I need to make it larger in diameter to keep the pump from blowing it out. It doesn't currently, cuz I use strips to strangle the flow, but a larger tube would fix this, or a smaller pump, lots of solutions.
I had other reactors, but when power shut off, the water flowed back leaving the media out cold and dry, and small particles has the tendency to block the pump. As it is now it will go on and on with no flow back from power cuts.
