Halloween Witch House 2014

Here In the Connell house, we love Halloween!!!
we have 3 kids that are "way" into it
and it just keeps getting better every year!!!
this year we have a few additions to the "Haunt" (pics and vids to come)
-notoriously the right side is super cobwebbed with 3 sizes of Giant Spiders
hanging wrapped bodies, and 3' animated motion detection Jumping spiders
and a creeping fog machine... a pic from 2012 to give you an idea of what it looks like

this year we decided to make hand made DayGlo Yellow and green Giant Spider webs

Also a Hilite of this year is that we are adding a HD Projector!!!
playing on the whole house on the left side of the house, in back of the Haunted GraveYard

the projector is housed in a Dracula style coffin
(gravestones put up to see if the projector doesn't get shadowed by them...)
there are 20+ of them total

we build a tunnel out of webs over the sidewalk for the
kids to approach thru, and a hex shaped tunnel leading up the walkway
that is covered by webbing and giant spiders
and another 3' Jumping spider (theyre everywhere)
Blood drip led lites /dead bodies made of real cow/ goat bones
and hanging wrapped bodies,and a 3 color lazershow closer to the witches house
(Amy doesn't mind it when I call her that-at this time of year!!!)
the Graveyard is ran by The Grim Reaper/ 7' tall and animated and talks
and another cold air fog machine behind him (creeping Fog!!!)
and another 3' Jumping spider (gotta get them from both ways)

we had well over 700 kids last year come thru our setup
each kid in a costume gets 3+ pieces of premium candy
we went thru over 3000 pieces last year!!!
-so many that we actually ran out of candy, and had to take some of the smaller twos candy that they didn't like as much to use...
-we will be prepared this year- but its on a weekend!!!! could be BIG

wish that you were closer too- we have had someone drive 30 miles to see it!!
(someone that moved into a area without much candy houses- so they came back to us...)
but 3000 miles is a little too far for candy!!!

Great what you guys are doing for the kids. The more allot of people are growing older not allot of tj kids that are now adults are not decorating anymore.. Kinda sucks I love holloween. I turn 23 this October. I still like it.

this year we are also decorating the whole living room and the kids will come inside to get their candy
-so theres a whole different environment past the porch and inside...

thank you!!! all 3 of my kids love Horror movies, and they know how SFX are made/ and the can spot CGI in a heartbeat...
they laugh at Feddy Kreuger and stuff... they prod me to go bigger and bigger...
we weren't going to setup for 2 more weeks after the test, but the kids came home from school saying
:"theres already houses with Halloween decorations!!!"
-so we spent yesterday evening testing the new stuff... before I knew it they had the fog machines and everything out of the garage!!!
so we setup the Spider tunnel and a few decorations... we already have people stopping by...

My sisters Birthday is Oct 28th- she had alot of Halloween partys
our Anniversary is also on Oct 28th!!! Happy Birthday- early ( 'cause I missed last year too)

this year we also have turned the HUGE Oak tree at the street into a Haunted tree with 12' arms on each side
and glowing eyes ( green cat eye candy dish) and glowing gaping mouth
made with spray foam on foam board, with twigs for the "teeth" and crooked nose- spray foamed over and molded
sprayed black, and "antiqued" with brown, and now also with a grey/ brown bark color that almost matches the tree
the eyes and mouth are "Glo stick" powered
face is 3'X2'+ and stands over a foot off of the tree in depth at the nose
