Better post yours....I am an auto body painter by trade and to have a crappy paint job on my cars would bother me until no end..

Yeah I have done custom painting for years and painted plenty of show cars... Been on the cover of magazines, done cars for sema here in Vegas etc... Now I got my ride haha!!! 51 Plymouth.. Chop top, bagged, channeled and lays frame... Top was cut 7" floor channeled and bagged with dual viair compressors and tanks... Got a flat 6 with 3 on the tree... Wow was that fun to learn how to drive haha!!!

Nah that's how she is staying... I got the skills to make it a trailer queen but that's not what I want... I love it the way it is still has the original flat six with 3 on the tree... It's def a fun cruiser!! Haha... I'm gonna put disc brakes on it just to keep myself and the family safe but that's about it...Maybe candy flake out the dash so people got something to drool over... come on there has to be some people on here with rats...

My uncle, my brother and a little bit of my self just did my uncles 60's suburban. Did a good 7" drop (he's in a wheelchair so it's easy for him to get in and out) also dropped in a worked ls1 engine (he was the head of Manley performance push rod dept. and I worked in the connecting rod dept.). The engine came out of his camaro that ran low 11's. The truck looks good and runs pretty good too. I'll try to find some pictures soon. Best of luck with the car.

slick ride Troy, although I prefer a slick custom paint, rat looks great on that car,I'd reprimer it all and leave it like that, for a while at least...definitely wouldn't make a trailer queen out of it though...it still has the 6 banger,it'll be more affordable to drive with todays gas prices than a big block hemi would :D

LOL

a Vette is an excellent car to restore, fiberglass doesn't rust...I was helping a friend rebuild his '69 Vette,it had some glass work needing fixed but was in great shape otherwise, the worst thing about it was the vacuum system on the hide-away headlights,it was all screwed up but we almost had all the bugs worked out and he had to sell it :(

Troy - I dig the old school car. I have always wanted to get an old car and restore it. I am a big fan of the old sting rays (68).
I think you should do coat of flat black and deck out the inside. Keep us updated if you do anything to it!
