I got this as a freebie on the last yourreef.com live sale it has little speckles all over it cant really see them in the pics though. What exactly is this thang.

+1 favia family. A bit small to tell exactly member of favia it is. As the above post said it more than likely will color up. It may have been in low light. So slowly accustom it to med light. It may be green in color once colored up.

Looks to me like a mycedium chalice. green,silver speckles, orange mouths

Very well could be. It needs to color up and grow. Mycediums prefer a bit more light than most chalices which may be why it is brown.

Going my paperwork that came with the order it is a star dust chalice for sure. I've had it for a while and have had it up high and down low and in different kinds of flow I just can't seem to find a good spot

Mycedium are decent growers once they are happy. Low flow and start with low light and over time you can get it use it medium, non-direct light. It will slowly color up. Brown chalices usually mean it was kept in too low of light. Mycedium are also decent eaters. It will eat pellets mysis or brine.
