The lobed brain coral is a hardy coral that can tolerate a wide range of lighting conditions. They prefer moderate water flow and can be placed just about anywhere in the aquarium as long as they are acclimated. Higher lighting intensities will tend to make their coloration more vibrant. They are available in a wide variety of colors ranging from solid browns, reds, oranges, greens and purples to more exotic dual and tri-color specimens. Relative to other LPS corals, lobophyllia sp. corals have large polyp mouths. Regular feedings of larger pieces of meaty foods, such as mysis shrimp or silversides, will help boost their health and growth. It is best to feed the lobophylia sp. coral at night when they extend their feeding/sweeper tentacles.
