This green algea come up after putting on some T5's when my LEDs went out. I have new LEDs coming for put back on the tank. Was this due to the spectrum change with the T5? Start of coraline? How do I get rid of it if it's not good? It's just very unsightly.

Jason I'm assuming your tank is fairly new and this rock that it is on was dry rock? This is completely normal for it to show up. You won't be able to scrub it off. It will go away in time brotha.

Can't figure out how to edit my post from tapatalk. Most of the rock has been in the tank the hole 2 years and some of the white pieces were added within the last 3 months when I changed some of the Aqua scape up

Ok that is why it's green cause it was added later. It will go away and coralline algae will cover the rock, it just will take some time. This was my tank a few years ago when I started with all dry rock.

I would just let it take its course, you already have some growing in there.

just a note, don't use purple up - it contains things that you don't need in your tank

Looks like green coraline algae to me.... Coraline comes in many colors, including green.

This is not coralline algae. It is a natural process new rock goes through. Coralline grows from the center out. As you can see from the pics, this is not the case. Yes it does come in many colors but this is not coralline. The rock will be covered with coralline in time if par. are kept good.
