Hi, this has been in my tank for like a month now. My yellow tang, snails or hermit crabs don't eat it. I just let it grow there because I thought it would suck up nitrates. But I'm not really sure what kind of algae it is. Please help me identify it. It's soft, kind of looks like a fern. Pretty sure it's not hair algae.

Looks like bryposis. Research the Kent magnesium method to get rid of it. Btw, don't let it grow as it will take over the entire tank!

Thnx guys! I thought that was a good algae, I can't believe I let it grow for more than a month in my tank. Luckily I felt like I should get advice from you guys. I removed the rock, although my tank looks naked without it. I'm praying that I don't see it anywhere else in my tank.

Thank you guys again and can I use the rock again or should I throw it out and just forget about it?
