I have loads of these especialy in my sump. Are these sponges, should I worry?

Thanks Tahoe, so nothing teapple sponges then worry about right? I will do some research on pineapple sponges then. Do you know if the system have benefits from them?

Sorry for my mistake! Thanks Tahoe so there is nothing to worry about. I will do some research on pineapple sponges then. Do you know if the system have benefits from them ?

Typically the Pineapple sponge is found in the cryptic (dark) areas of your tank, the population also declines as a system ages.

They have a weird way of showing up, populating the. Disappearing. I added an African flame back angel when I got a severe outbreak.

Thanks for your help, do you know about full grown size of it cause I have read that it can clog the plumbing? And yes you are right they are at the darker sides of my system especially in my sump.

They really do not get much larger than the one in the image. For that particular sponge to occlude any pipe there would have to be an issue with detritus and routine maintenance failure. Basically if you did not notice an issue before plumbing was compromised than your system has bigger problems over all. Now I can see where a branching type of sponge might become an issue over time.
