Hi! I have a frag of zoas that has had some red hair algae pop up on it. I've had trouble removing it by hand because I'm afraid of damaging the zoas. Does anyone have any suggestions? Cleaning crew for the tank is a few turbos, astrea snails, an emerald crab, and a couple of red leg hermits. The tank is only an 8 gal nano and has been up for 6 months. Thanks!

Can you remove the frag from the tank? If so, then you can treat the offending area with a Peroxide solution. While frag is wet, dip a Q-Tip in Hydrogen Peroxide and swab the area liberally. Take care not to cover zoas if possible.

I don't think I could hit the algae without getting it on the zoas :/ It's a frag of about 10 polyps with the algae literally coming up between the polyps

Dip the whole frag in peroxide/water or just peroxide. just make sure the polyps are closed before dipping and they should be fine

I use 3 parts tank water to 1 part peroxide for 3 min. Dip in Clean tank water and then back in tank.
