Hello. My name is Rachael and I'm new here. I heard about th forum from Coral Con Facebook page.
I currently have a 150 gallon 6 foot long saltwater fish only tank. Looking into setting up another tank for reef. I'm hoping I can get some information from other reefers to help me with my set up.

I love this hobby!! I love my fish as much as I love my dogs. I have a blue hippo tang, sailfin tang, blue eye kole tang, scopas tang(as you can tell tangs are my favorite), lemon peel angel, arch eye hawkfish, lawnmower blenny, and one clownfish. I had two clowns but one recently disappeared. Not sure what happened there. I had him over a year. All of my tangs besides the hippo I've had a year or longer. Angel I've had about 5 months. Lawnmower blenny about 2 months. Arch eye hawkfish I've had almost a year. The newest is the hippo tang only being in there a month. I plan on getting maybe a wrasse and being done with my stocking until I get my 240 gallon or bigger.
On my display tank I have a 35 gallon sump, Three wavemakers various sizes, and a ramera aqua C hang over back protein skimmer. I just recently got the protein skimmer for free and I have to say it seems to do better than any other one I've had.

I got into this hobby because my mom had a saltwater tank for a few years. I loved to watch it with her. It was a 75 gallon tank. She found out she had cancer and downgraded to a 37. She wanted to get rid of it altogether and I said no you love your tank so she kept it. She passed in December of 2012 and a little while after I talked my dad into helping me put her 75 back up. Eventually upgraded to what I thought was a 120. Then when I found out it was only 100 i upgraded to the 150. Still want bigger. I've learned a lot from books and forums over the last couple years and I've also lost a lot of fish. I haven't lost near as many fish lately and I've gotten better at keeping them alive. And learned how to properly introduce new fish so old fish don't harass or pick on new fish. This has been a rewarding hobby and I can't wait to keep learning more! Thanks for reading!

Here's a couple pics of my puppies and my tank and stuff

My dogs are Kilah the fawn Doberman pinscher, scruff is a shih Tzu mix, Venus the red dobie and Darla the bloodhound.

Crested geckos are eldest and brisingr(Eragon books)

Leopard geckos are geek and screech (he makes a funny screeching noise when your misting the habitat)

And Sun conure birds are waffles and mango

And my chocolate chip starfish that my mom bought probably around 4 years ago

Just thought I'd share some of the other pets I love

Oh and I uploaded a pic of my tattoo in dedication to my mom. Since she's the reason I do the saltwater hobby. Her name is at the top and her birthday is in a piece of seaweed and her death day in the rock on the other side.
