Greetings all, just registered on Reef2Reef on the recommendation of my LFS Ocean Prime Corals. Just put up a Coralife Biocube 29 with standard lighting. I have about 24 Lbs of live rock and 20 Lbs of live sand. Removed the filter trays and added a Eshopps filter sponge and a bag of Seachem Matrix in the second compartment. Also have a Tunze 9001 protein skimmer in the second compartment. Hydor controller with two Hydor Nano 450 powerheads and an JBJ ATO system. Currently in the cycling stages, tank has been up about 1 1/2 weeks now. Probably add cleaner crew in a week or so. Have some hair algae on the rocks. PH is about 8.2, ammonia and nitrite is at 0 and nitrates is about 5-10 ppm. Current SG is 1.028 and temp is about 78 degrees. Taking my time with this tank as I had saltwater aquariums about 10 years ago, but still consider myself new to the hobby. Look forward to the group and anybody with thoughts or ideas to make my tank better I would appreciate.

I would like to go bigger, but wanted to start small to get my feet wet again. I love the look of a reef tank and now that I am getting older thought it might be a good time to try again. Might get me to slow down a bit. Thanks for the welcome and look forward to participating in the group.

Welcome :) Yea definitely slowing down is the key to success. What is your lighting schedule like right now while you are cycling?

Welcome to R2R! Looks like you're off to a great start. As suggested above start a build thread. It's a great way to get info and input from members. Can't wait to see it progress.
