Hello all im new to this forum. I have a 39 Gallon tank that i drilled and plumbed myself. I also built the stand. Heres pics.

Thanks. Well its a 39 gallon tank with a 20 gallon sump. I used the herbie method (video on bulk reef supply) for plumbing. 2 Drain pipes, 1 is for backup incase the main line is to get clogged (it never has). Heres some pics of it when i built it. I originally made my own 10 gallon sump tank as you can see in these pics.

I painted my background with black paint. I also upgraded my sump to a premaid acrylic sump. Heres some pics i took today.

Thanks. Im still using my aquac remora hang on skimmer from when i didnt have a sump. Its still working well. I also use chaeto in my sump along with a little live rock and rubble. Copepods are plentiful in my sump. For lighting i use a 120 watt xen-lux led fixture which is mounted from the ceiling. Return pump is a danner mag drive 3. Notice there is also a george fischer y check valve on return line to make it alot more fail proof. For DT circulation i have 2 Hydor korialas. A 750 and a 1050 i believe. They are hooked up to the hydor smart wave controller. I use reef crystals salt mix and no other supplements. I feed tank twice a week with reef chilli and occasionally frozen prawn roe, krill, or cyclopeeze.

Adopted a canary blenny today. My sunrise dottyback keeps nipping at him. I hear they retaliate with fangs that deliver a bite like a bee sting. Msybe he will straighten up the dottyback. I hope they get along.

When that blenny bites back the dottyback the dottyback won't do it again.

Well the blenny is still living. He looked like he was stuck to the back glass. Hiding from the dottyback. The dottyback didnt see him! Lol. But he is just too quick for that blenny. The blenny hasnt tried to bite him back yet.

So the blenny has got more brave and is swimming around more often. The dottyback has laid off him a bit but still comes at him every now and again. He sleeps against the silicone in the corners of the tank. Here is some pics of him swimming about.

So i have some updating to do! While i was working out of state for over a week my gf never topped off the water on the tank. Well...my bta died. I did immediate water changes, ran carbon and purigen. My canary blenny died. I think the dottyback did most but coulda been the nem dying. So i got rid of my terrorist dottyback and got a firefish. All is well now and my corals and clowns survived thankfully.

Bummer about the losses.

I will never have another dottyback!! They are SUPER aggressive. I like the new additions. Let me know your thoughts on the rainford's goby when you get him.

Thanks i will. I get him tomorrow! But i did pick up a fancy brittle star for $5 on super sale! Here he is before i put him in...super cool.
